What’s In a Name?

Wait, I thought your name was “Joy”…

Depending on which sphere you’ve found me from, you may know me better as “Joy”. That is, in fact, my middle name.

“Frankie” is my first name (okay, it’s technically “Francesca”, but I’m only that when I’m in trouble or at the doctor’s office–neither of which are states-of-being I’m particularly fond of) and the one by which some of my friends and family know me better.

Call me “Frankie” or “Joy”–either is fine.

What’s with “Meandering Minstrel”? You don’t even play any instruments well.

Well, this one’s kinda funny, actually.

You see, I bought the domain for this website and 3 years of hosting on January 31st, 2024.

Just a couple weeks prior, I had put Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules for Life to the tune of “The 12 Days of Christmas” and recorded it as a joke for my fellow students at Peterson Academy.

At this point I had a pretty good routine down and had great plans to continue writing and recording songs on the semi-regular.

But then I was summarily expelled from Peterson Academy and all my priorities got reshuffled.

Writing songs was no longer on the immediate horizon.

I also accidentally left my ukulele in North Carolina.

So, any minstrelsy is on hiatus at the moment.

But the meandering continues.

And so do I:

For the time being I plan to provide monthly updates on travels here for anyone interested in following along.

I’ll likely be posting other adventures, jokes, reminiscings, and thoughts on whatever else seems worth pondering aloud in between the monthly updates.

If there’s anything you particularly like and would prefer to see more of, let me know and I’ll consider it.

The primary purpose of this blog is to keep in touch with you all while I’m out on the road, so please reach out if you’d like to catch up before I see you in person next.

As always, thanks for taking the time to read. 🪶
